YUME KANA is a visual project rooted in awe, memory, and the dream-like moments that shaped my time in Japan. Captured on a mixture of short film and film photography, the project blends observation with emotion, capturing everything from quiet streets and late-night reflections to the rush of new experiences and unfamiliar places. The work moves between stillness and motion, documenting the feeling of being young, far from home, and fully present in a world that felt unreal in all the best ways.

Across this project, I explored themes of longing, discovery, and the small, cinematic fragments that stay with you long after a trip ends. The title—YUME KANA, meaning “seeming like a dream”—reflects the surreal experiences I had, and the memories I’ll never forget from it.
